Julia Michaels didn’t plan on being a solo singer.
She co-wrote two of 2016’s biggest songs by Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez (‘Sorry’ and ‘Good For You’, respectively) and was happy being a behind-the-scenes person in the songwriting process. But when two artists tried to take her song ‘Issues’, Julia fought hard to keep the track because of its personal meaning.
She won the fight and it’s taken her to some pretty incredible places – like the closing ceremony of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She’s got an EP due out this Spring so keep an eye out for more from this week’s Launch Artist!
